so, i realize that i don’t post as regularly as i should and, when i do, it’s often to complain about something in the world that just doesn’t seem right to me. i’m trying to work on both, and am pleased that the first post of my renewed determination is a very happy announcement!

one of my nearest and dearest friends in the entire world is having a baby! i can’t stop smiling. she and her family have had a really hellish year, and news like this is so well beyond needed and deserved! i’ve been waiting for this, too (because it IS all about me) – and my first gift has been sitting on a shelf for over a year. i can’t wait to get it off of my hands!!

this is going to be one lucky kid – s/he’s gonna have the best mother ever, a person who is one of the most loyal people I know with one of biggest hearts i’ve ever encountered. (And daddy’s not half bad either!) i know I’m lucky to have her in my life – she’s there for all she loves, even if we don’t deserve it so much at the time.

K is looking down and smiling big time. but, of course, she’s been doing that for a long time.

huge, huge hugs and stuff to both L & C! i’d raise a glass of our favorite beverage, but that’s a no-no. so, i’ll raise my glass of sparkling cider…or grape juice…or tea.
