Can someone please explain to me why so many resources go into excluding people? Seriously. South Carolina has joined Virginia, Colorado, Idaho, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Wisconsin (maybe others) to ban same-sex marriage and/or civil unions. (check out the newswire)

What is the point? Why are people so threatened if two people of the same sex have the same legal rights as two people of different sexes? I don’t get it. What does it take away from them? Why do they care? Aren’t we just talking about body parts? I know I certainly don’t care who gets married – as long as they’re happy, what business is it of mine? (Even if they’re miserable, none of my beeswax.)

I’ve heard the “marriage is a covenant, it’s sacred” argument & is supposed to be between a man and a woman. As I see it, heteroes haven’t exactly done the best job at keeping that covenant – the last figures I saw showed that less than half of marriages end in anything other than divorce. Until we get it right, let’s not point our fingers at others.

Besides, don’t folks have better things to do with their time and money than continue to persecute people? You’d think so…. Stop hating on the ‘mos, people!
